i don’t know from where in the world you’ve clicked on this email but with all the crazy going on rn i feel like you need some motivation…
cz winter’s cold & days are dark (at least in Germany ok?).
But FIRST….
An update on all things farming:
Halloween calf and Halloween cow are fitter than ever (+ doubled down on the cute)
she’s called Esmeralda DON’T ASK
platforms are going bonkers: reach is exploding on X, and imploding on LinkedIn (dw i got you…… if u keep reading my words)
my stocks are at a solid 21% (still no stocks? well get some NOW)
i got call-ghosted 3x on Halloween, then rejected, then ghosted again
(but it was worth it*)
me, sad ghosted + confused
Now, if you’ve been around on socials for a while, you kinda agree…
You can’t predict shit.
What works today, tomorrow… doesn’t.
So… what do you do… except keep showing up?
If you feel like you’ve lost control right now…
*Let me tell you a farmer’s story.
(a Chinese one this time)
Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer whose horse ran away.
That evening, all of his neighbors came around to commiserate.
They said, “We are so sorry to hear your horse has run away.
This is most unfortunate.”
The farmer said,
“Maybe.”
The next day the horse came back bringing seven wild horses with it.
In the evening everybody came back and said, “Oh, isn’t that lucky.
What a great turn of events. You now have eight horses!”
The farmer again said,
“Maybe.”
The following day his son tried to break one of the horses.
While riding it, he was thrown off… and broke his leg.
The neighbors then said, “Oh dear, that’s too bad,”
and the farmer responded,
“Maybe.”
The next day the conscription officers came around to conscript people into the army.
They rejected his son…because he had a broken leg.
Again all the neighbors came around and said,
“Isn’t that great!”
Again, he said,
“Maybe.”

See, the village people are quick to react…
to the wins & losses of the day.
They are hyper zoomed-in.
(and it’s clouding their judgement)
So if your life feels kinda chaos right now…
you need to zoom out.
Detach.
Let go.
Ignore platforms, ignore ghosting, ignore u didn’t dress up for Halloween.
(everything happens for the better, maybe)

Dead.

The 1 thing you can predict about platforms?
They’re unpredictable.
So what’s your move? What’s your strategy?
Do you jump to the best reaching platform rn???

Algorithms change all the time. You wanna be smart but…
You don’t wanna over-adapt and lose focus.
Am i ditching LinkedIn right now…
and go all-in on X again?
No.
Just like with the villagers…
we gotta zoom out.
My main focus?
Growing my email list, and doing some client work.
Do i need to go hard on Twitter for that?
I don’t.
I’ll also not be stupid… and collect some subs on the go.
How?
Scheduling my best performing posts, plugging my newsletter….
and forgetting i’d just done that.
Then sticking to my main strat:
LinkedIn.
And this is exactly what you’ll do.
Ok wait it depends.
Your game is different.
The stage you’re in is different.
Your main platform is different.
Ask yourself:
What’s your ultimate goal with socials?
THAT’S your focus.
(not the algorithm)
Look.
You can focus on skilling up.
You can focus on getting clients.
You can focus on getting your reps in.
You can do whatever you want, but…
Whatever you’re chasing…
Don’t waste your time and energy…
on the hottest trends rn (or fighting strangers on the Internet).
The biggest crime to commit…
is you losing your focus.
It ain’t sexy but…
You do stuff that works, and you do stuff UNTIL it works.
Your ultimate strategy for 2025?
You make a loose plan.
You test it.
You adapt as you go.
