Will I be replaced by Ai in 2025?

click for more robots

Hi loyal subscriber who refuses to quit on my emails, how’s your 3rd Advent going so far?

(hey I’m glad that happened tell me more)

Mine? Let’s see.

I got up at 6am for the cows (all 69 well, plus 2 in heat), survived the milk shift on a cup of instant cappuccino and had a chill breakfast & eggs at the farm.

BUT THEN….

you’ll never believe my odds.

I don’t wanna rattle you up on a Sunday, but you see…

When I got home, showered and sit down to write, the most outrageous thing–

Ok who am i kidding.

What actually happened is:::

::::::::::::::::::::::

Nothing.

(will you let me be boring on a Sunday??)

Nothing much except me falling prey to some annoyingly clickable YouTube titles while procrastinating on my email………..

watch 14 yo Emma completely DESTROY (it’s insane)

But ok ok you’re here for the robots.

Look.

Farming is tough.

There’s some kind of emergency situation where somebody is born, dies or makes an effort to do so every day before breakfast.

Last week I killed a 3cm spider on my neck…

Just in time before it could kill me.

The farmer came this close → ← to calling 911.

(you would have if you’d heard me scream)

Ok I’m rambling again, my point is…

There’s a lot of work, and a lot of milking. Cows don’t do holidays, and gotta be milked 2x/day.

(Farmer Sr. is in constant negotiations to pause production on a Sunday….but nobody’s taken him up on it)

Well the thing being:

I don’t care how tough you are. Not even the most cheerful of dairy farmers stays motivated over a baseline of 6 hours of milking 365 days/year, 50+ years counting….

On top of the usual farming madness.

The solution?

More staff (go find some lol), or…..

A ROBOT.

Yes.

You’ve read that right.

AI for cows.

(sorta)

A milking robot… or ‘automated milking system’, that’s replacing 97% of cranky employees.

(all the rage amongst farmers who don’t have 1 emailfluencer milking their cows)

↑ a box for cows to milk themselves ↑

So here’s how that thing works:

The cow enters the box, a computer reads out its data & the robot starts milking the cow.

Pretty smart stuff if you ask me.

Also pretty tough on your expenses… replacing your employees with 1 robot costs you smart lil hobby farmer around $200k… per 50 cows.

(oh well)

So will I be replaced by robots in 2025?

There’s no way to say really…

My best guess being…

It’s a solid maybe.

You’ll have to keep reading my emails :)

x.

PS Now if you need a $200k milking robot…………

You don’t.

So 0 excuses to do the smart thing & invest in your emails (to stop gambling on socials in 2025).
